Art Spiegelman’s Maus is a classic in the field & not to be missed. Also Harvey Pekar’s American Splendor and Our Cancer Year are also great.

Assignment

Collect a story from someone 70 years old or older. Transform it into a medium that does not use the human face - you can make a comic or graphic novel, a performance with a puppet or a mask or an animation piece.

If it is a performance you can do it in class. Anything else should be posted to the blog by Wednesday midnight.
