My first attempt with the Holga yielded blanks - all-white film. So, I did the assignment again using a digital camera and Holga-like constrictions: keeping the opening fixed, not adjusting, not cropping, not editing; taking one shot per person. Still, the results have the precision of digital and miss the mess and magic of the Holga results.
It’s curious, looking back at the contact sheet, to remember the interaction I had with each individual and see how that is or isn’t conveyed - in terms of intimacy, intensity, clarity - by the snapshot.
